About us

We are building the front door to adult social care

Carely.care is a UK startup. We think the way a person first reaches adult social care should be as simple as ordering a taxi: one conversation, at any hour, that ends in the right help — with a human making every decision that matters.

Carely.care is pre-launch. Nothing on this site is a live service, the prototype uses synthetic data only, and no real personal data is held.

Why we exist

The front door is the hardest part of the system

Most people do not arrive at adult social care through a neat referral. They arrive in a crisis, on the phone, out of hours, often for someone else — and usually after telling their story to several different people.

What follows is what we hear from people, families and practitioners. It is not a set of statistics, and we have not dressed it up as one.

  • “I told them everything, and then had to start again.” Information is gathered repeatedly because it is not held in one place or passed on whole.
  • “I rang at four o'clock and was told to ring back tomorrow.” Need does not keep office hours, and neither does worry.
  • “I didn't know I could ask for a carer's assessment.” Entitlements exist that many people never hear about, because nobody asks the right question at the right moment.
  • “Nobody told me what happens next.” The silence after a referral is often worse than the wait itself.

Meanwhile the practitioners who could resolve things quickly are spending their day re-keying information, chasing updates and re-explaining the system. That is the waste we are trying to remove — not the human judgement, which is the part worth protecting.

What we are building

One conversation, from first question to right help

Carely.care is a conversational front door for adult social care. It starts with advice and information, and it continues — for the people who need it — all the way through assessment, care planning, provider matching and ongoing support.

Aria answers first

Aria, our Artificial Reasoning Intelligent Advisor, is available at any hour. Aria answers questions, works out what someone may be entitled to, and gathers the information a practitioner will need — in the person's own words, once.

Humans decide

Every statutory decision — eligibility, mental capacity, best interests, safeguarding and deprivation of liberty — stays with the accountable human decision-maker. Aria prepares, drafts and coordinates. Aria does not determine.

The council stays in charge

Carely.care sits on top of a council's duties and systems rather than beside them. The local authority keeps its accountability, its data and its relationship with the person.

The full capability list is on the platform page, the case journey and notifications are in how it works, and the decision rights are published on the safeguards page.

What we believe

Six commitments that shape the product

Tell your story once

Information should be gathered once, with consent, and shared with the people who need it — not re-typed at every handover.

Statutory decisions stay human

No algorithm decides whether someone is eligible, whether they have capacity, or whether a concern is a safeguarding matter. A person does, and their name is on the record.

Local accountability is not optional

Carely.care does not replace a council's duties, its local practice standards or its relationships. It is designed to be governed by the local authority that uses it.

Evidence, not claims

We publish the measures we expect to be judged on, with the baseline and the target, and we will publish the results — including the ones that disappoint.

Accessible by default

The people who need adult social care are the people most likely to be excluded by poor design. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA as a floor, and we test with people who use assistive technology.

We say what Aria cannot do

Every limitation that matters is stated plainly, in the product and on this site. An AI that oversells itself in social care is a safeguarding risk, not a feature.

Where we are today

An honest status, updated as it changes

We would rather be judged on what is true than on what sounds impressive.

  • Product Working prototype — scripted flows, synthetic data
  • Live councils None yet — founding partner conversations open
  • Real personal data None held, none needed for the demonstration
  • Security Building to Cyber Essentials Plus before any live data
  • Funding Early conversations with investors and partners

Who we are

A small founding team, with sector depth behind it

Carely.care is founded and run by its founding team, and delivered alongside Kashyap Consultancy's integrated care and technology practice — combining sector consulting with AI-enabled assessment delivery. That combination matters: councils do not just need software, they need a partner who understands the customer journey, the statutory framework and the workforce reality that any change has to fit into.

We are deliberately small and deliberately open. We work with principal social workers, commissioners, information governance leads, provider networks and — most importantly — people with lived experience of adult social care, who review what we build before anyone else does.

If you work in adult social care, in a provider organisation, in health, or in care technology, we would rather talk early than launch something that misses the point.

How we work

What partners can expect from us

  • Co-production, not consultation theatre. People with lived experience are involved in design decisions, not shown a finished product.
  • A published practice framework. The rules that govern Aria — what Aria may do, what must be escalated, and how it is audited — are written down and shared.
  • Regulator- and IG-ready by design. Data protection impact assessments, records of processing, retention rules and audit trails are part of the build, not a later exercise.
  • No lock-in. Your data, your configurations and your evidence base remain yours, in open formats, and are exportable at any point.
  • Straight answers. If something is not ready, we will say so, and we will tell you what it would take.
